It was wonderful to work with the American Red Cross North Texas Region to put on a sickle cell blood drive at our Richardson headquarters! Shoutout to our amazing employees who rolled up their sleeves and helped donate 77 units of blood! “Several things made this drive unique,” explained Red Cross Account Manager Tiffany Mclean. “Three high-level executives came to donate, which is pretty special. Another unique thing was that 21 of the units we collected were [from donors] of African American descent.” Read the full article and learn why sickle cell blood drives are so important here: http://spr.ly/6043kfu5f

It was wonderful to bring together our 15 #SpecialBeginnings® grantees! Our collaborators were able to share what they do, how they do it, and look for opportunities to work together for the common goal of improving the lives of Texas moms and babies! Watch to learn more about three of our grantees.

With the help of Del Valle High School administration and staff, we are excited to share the opening of the “Blue Treasures Resource Room.” Students in need can visit the closet for free essential personal items, like clothes, hygiene products and more. We’re thankful for the opportunity to work with DVHS to help students thrive. While Del Valle stands at the ready each day to nurture students and provide educational enrichment, the Blue Treasures Resource Room is also ready to assist in eliminating non-medical determinants of health and educational barriers.

We were honored to host Texas State Representative and Chairman of the Innovation & Technology Caucus Giovanni Capriglione at our C1 Innovation Center. Our Cyber Fusion team ensures the safety and security of our members' data as we innovate. As cybersecurity threats have increased and evolved, we continue to work to anticipate risks and establish programs that help protect our key stakeholders, including members, providers, and employees personal and medical information.

We’re excited to support Soldiers' Angels! The organization distributes food to military and veterans across the state, and with help from our Blue Impact℠ grant, they were able to expand their services to the Dallas area. Every month, they distribute 16,000 pounds of food to low-income service members and veterans to help reduce food insecurity. We were the proud sponsor of the February food distribution, where 157 families received healthy and nutritious food.

We are happy to share that our Vice President of Texas Plan Operations, Patty Escoe, MBA, MHP is joining the Dallas Business Journal at the The University of Texas at Dallas for their 11th annual Mentoring Monday on February 26! Do your homework and come to a mentoring session with questions,” Escoe said.
